LAB INSTRUCTORS

  • Culture is transformed by movements, and at the core of every movement is a heart set on fire for a people!

Drawing from a decade of hands-on experience, this lab will uncover effective tools and mindsets for engaging with and shaping culture. These insights not only transform our city’s culture, they fostered unity among individuals with vastly different beliefs while maintaining an atmosphere centered around Christ.

I’m excited to share my mistakes, victories, and key lessons I’ve learned about how to effectively engage with and impact culture!

  • A great song can outlive its writer, becoming a timeless piece that continues to inspire future generations. The power of writing songs lies in its ability to express emotions, tell stories, and connect with people on a deep level. Songs can heal, inspire, and empower both the writer and the listener.

In this lab, we will explore stories and messages in an array of songs, go through several songwriting practices and start to write a song together as a group.

  • “Mystery creates wonder and wonder is the basis of man’s desire to understand!”- Neil Armstrong

In a world that often prioritizes logic and certainty, wonder is the spark that keeps us open, engaged, and inspired to dream beyond the possible. It invites us to see the extraordinary in the ordinary, to transform the familiar into fuel for imagination. Wonder challenges the status quo, ignites creativity, and fuels cultural change.

In this class, we will explore why wonder is essential for shaping the future and how it begins with rediscovering the depth, beauty, and mystery within humanity. By cultivating a sense of awe, we unlock new ways of thinking, creating, and influencing the world around us. Let’s step into the unknown together and embrace wonder as a catalyst for transformation.

  • In a world where we have everything at our fingertips and where it has become all too common to live isolated alongside each other, one of the greatest human needs is connection.

Join us as we explore how to show up for others, prioritize connection, and cultivate the kind of community that’s life-changing. What does it look like to pursue deep relationships in a world that often moves too fast to notice the value in simply being present? Let’s create a future that is full of life and connection!

  • EMPOWERING CITIES FOR POSITIVE CHANGE

Never before has there been such a strong need for our community to be activated, empowered, and filled with a sense of agency in recognizing the power of creativity. Our community faces numerous social issues, but can we inspire radical change through creativity alone? What happens when we come together to learn from one another through our most profound creative insights? The terms “Design Thinking,” “Human-Centered Design,” and “Social Innovation” are becoming increasingly common in today’s design discussions and can be found on bookshelves worldwide. However, these concepts are often misunderstood or unfamiliar to the general public. So, what exactly are Human-Centered Design and Design Thinking, and why are they important? Understanding these concepts and learning how to apply these practices can significantly benefit our communities. No longer only for designers, these tools have become a valuable resource for all. This Lab explores how Design Thinking can empower radical change within our communities. Utilizing our creative insights and abilities, we will use design thinking tools to prepare you to tackle challenges in your churches, neighborhoods, and communities. Participants will leave feeling empowered to facilitate new ways of problem-solving that blend creativity and empathy.

  • Have you ever felt your ideas, concepts and words are trapped inside and you long to see them come out the way they exist in you? Are you tired of doing talks that fall flat? In Art & Craft of Communication we will be going over practical tips and ways to unlock your words, creativity, and ability to communicate. Learning the art and craft of communication will help you realize each word is a brushstroke on the canvas. Come and learn how to approach each talk intentionally and to create messages that resonate with your audience.

  • It may not be so easy for our imagination to suddenly spring into action... or come out of hiding... or awaken... or resurrect... But what if ideas were the most plentiful resource we have? What if imagination is at the core of being human––where life (and life abundant) is generated? And what if imagination is essential to engaging the Kingdom of God, here and now? In this Lab, we'll explore this world of possibilities, offer a new paradigm of what imagination could be and do, and walk away with practical tools that will empower you on a journey of re-engaging your imagination.
